Getting started
What do I need to run Tuck?
Tuck for Mac runs on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Tuck for iPhone shows the shelf you sync from your Mac through iCloud Drive.
How do I open the shelf?
Tuck lives in the menu bar. Open the shelf with the keyboard shortcut shown in Settings → Shortcuts, or click the menu bar icon. Settings → General → Take the Guided Tour replays the interactive walkthrough at any time.
macOS asks whether Tuck may access the clipboard. What should I choose?
On macOS 15.4 and later, choose Always Allow so Tuck can save what you copy in the background. Earlier versions of macOS don't ask.
Why does Tuck ask for Accessibility access?
Accessibility lets Tuck paste straight into the app you're using and run the paste stack. It's optional: without it, Tuck copies the item and you paste it yourself with ⌘V. On macOS 27 the permission is called Device Control and Data Access.
Direct paste stopped working after an update.
macOS ties the Accessibility permission to a specific copy of the app. Open Settings → Privacy in Tuck and choose Repair Access…, then turn Tuck on again in System Settings. Keep Tuck in your Applications folder so the permission sticks.
Sync and iPhone
How do I get my clipboard on my iPhone?
On your Mac, open Tuck Settings → Sync and turn on Sync with iCloud Drive. On your iPhone, open Tuck, tap Choose Sync Folder, open iCloud Drive and select the Tuck Sync folder.
Is synced data encrypted?
Sync uses your own iCloud Drive, protected by your Apple Account. We can't access it. For end-to-end encryption, turn on Advanced Data Protection in your iCloud settings.
Privacy and data
Does Tuck send my clipboard anywhere?
No. Tuck has no servers and no analytics. The only network requests are link previews (fetching a copied link's title and image, which you can turn off in Settings → General) and, if you turn it on, iCloud Drive sync. See the privacy policy.
How do I keep passwords out of Tuck?
Supported password managers are excluded by default, and Tuck skips anything an app marks as confidential. Add other apps under Settings → Privacy → Excluded applications.
How long does Tuck keep my history?
Unpinned items are deleted after 30 days. Pinned items stay until you delete them.
How do I delete everything?
Use Clear History in Tuck, or quit Tuck and delete ~/Library/Application Support/Tuck. If sync is on, also delete the Tuck Sync folder in iCloud Drive.
